Let's take a look under the hood.

The first thing I noticed about the camper was the roof. There were cracks everywhere big and small. The previous owner said he had the roof repaired a few years ago for $1000. Didn't last too long. The ABF roofs are what put Fleetwood Coleman out of business.

You can see some of the original roof under the bed liner paint they used to cover it up. The ABS plastic is peeling away from the top. Looks like I'm going to have to rip it off and start from scratch.

I hooked up the gas and tested the inside stove and refrigerator. With the help of my friend Greg, we were able to ignite the fridge and it works.

I found a 30amp plug adapter in the camper and used it to power up the

onboard inverter. The lights worked but the a/c wouldn't come on. I reset

the 20amp breaker on the inverter and the a/c came to life.

I noticed when I cranked up the top the whole backend would shake. I pulled off the camper's butt and found the problem.

Tight Fit

I had to figure out how to get the pop-up in the backyard while

 building a new gate so Nova(our dog) couldn't get out.

This is the area before I started my project.

 

I made the gate out of two 8 foot sections of fencing. The opening

was 10 foot, so I cut one 6' and the other 4'. Bought a couple of

2X4s for support and all the hardware to hang it. The 4X6 was

repurposed from an old swingset we had in the backyard.

 There's not much wiggle room.

Nova is checking out the camper.

I had to make some upgrades to the 2003 Isuzu Rodeo to be able to tow the pop-up home.

2002 Fleetwood Coleman Cheyenne

We got a good deal on a used 2002 Fleetwood Coleman Cheyenne. I thought it would be a good idea to Blog our adventures and improvements we make to it.

My first time setting it up. Pretty easy. Watched a Youtube video the next dat to see what I missed.

 Interior is nice and clean. The cord in the top left is for the A/C. This side has a full-size mattress.

This side has a king-sized mattress.
